The journey began before the badge.
The roots of the Puffins story reach back to a pioneering cricket tour in 2014. Kópavogur Puffins was formally founded the following year by Abhishek Chauhan.

The first badge gave the new club an identity. What began as a simple mark would evolve into one of Icelandic cricket’s most recognisable sporting brands.

A club is born
Kópavogur Puffins is formally founded by Abhishek Chauhan and wins the Volcanic Ashes in its first season.
Champions again
The Puffins successfully retain the Volcanic Ashes and establish themselves as a leading force.
Third Ashes crown
Another Volcanic Ashes triumph confirms a sustained championship culture.
The historic treble
Volcanic Ashes, Íslensk Premier League and Sixty Ball Shootout—three major trophies in one extraordinary season.
Two trophies and a tour
A fifth Volcanic Ashes victory, the first Valhalla Cup title and an overseas visit to Elstow.
ÍPL champions in Prague year
The Puffins win their second ÍPL title and draw the Scott Page Cup series 2–2 during the Prague tour.
Valhalla champions again
A second Valhalla Cup comes to Kópavogur, while founder Abhishek Chauhan leads Icelandic domestic cricket with 24 wickets.
The eleventh title
Kópavogur Puffins wins the Sixty Ball Shootout for the second time.
Records and another flight
David Cook becomes the first bowler in Icelandic cricket history to reach 200 wickets, as the club prepares for a September UK tour.

Team success is built by individual excellence. Two of the club’s defining bowlers have earned national recognition and landmark records.
Abhishek Chauhan
The club founder produced the best bowling season of his career: 24 wickets while conceding only 4.79 runs per over. Iceland Cricket’s awards announcement named him Bowler of the Year.
David Cook
During a Puffins victory over Reykjavík, Cook became the first bowler in Icelandic cricket history to reach 200 wickets—a landmark built through longevity, control and loyalty to Kópavogur.
Puffin of the Year
David Cook was named Puffin of the Year for 2022, recognising his contribution to the club on the field and within the Puffins community.
