Icelandic spirit.
International miles.
Tours with Kópavogur Puffins bring Iceland Cricket to new grounds, new opponents and stories worth retelling.
The flight path

Before the badge
An early overseas journey helped build the friendships and international outlook that shaped the club founded in Kópavogur the following year.

Cricket without borders
The Puffins took their competitive edge overseas in a season that would also become historic at home.

Four matches. Series level.
The 2023 Prague journey produced competitive cricket and a 2–2 series—proof that a Puffin can travel well without needing to fly south for winter.
Represent the club. Respect the hosts. Leave with stories.

The tours between the matches
Travel builds teams differently: shared meals, wrong turns and the discovery that somebody always forgets a charger.

The passport stays ready
International cricket remains part of the club’s identity. Future tour details will be published when fixtures are confirmed.

Tours that shaped the Puffins
Tours give Kópavogur Puffins a chance to test their cricket in new conditions, meet welcoming clubs and represent Icelandic club cricket abroad. Every journey combines competitive ambition with the friendships that make amateur sport worth the effort.
The preparation begins long before departure. Players arrange fixtures, travel, accommodation, equipment and squad roles while continuing to train in Iceland. On arrival, adapting quickly matters: unfamiliar pitches, different weather and new opponents reward clear communication and disciplined cricket.
The 2014 journey belongs to the roots of the team’s international outlook. Prague later became an important destination, including the 2020 visit and the competitive 2023 Scott Page Cup series. These tours are part of the broader History and Honours of the club, while national-team achievements are recorded separately under International Honours.
Travel also strengthens club life away from the scoreboard. Shared meals, sightseeing, team meetings and the occasional wrong turn create trust between players. Explore more of that culture on our Club Life page.
Each tour also creates practical lessons for the next one. The club learns how to plan balanced squads, protect recovery time, communicate schedules and prepare equipment for air travel. Returning players share that knowledge so future trips become smoother and more inclusive.
Results matter, but conduct matters too. Puffins aim to play positive cricket, thank officials and hosts, and leave every ground with stronger relationships than when they arrived. That reputation supports future fixtures and helps Iceland Cricket remain connected to the wider cricket community.
For supporters following from Iceland, tour updates provide a window into the team’s progress and personality. Photographs, score summaries and player stories connect the travelling squad with the wider Puffins community at home. When the players return, those experiences feed into training, leadership and the standards expected during the domestic season. In that way, every journey continues long after the flight lands and helps the entire club move forward together.
Future tours will be announced only after fixtures and travel plans are confirmed. Players interested in earning the shirt can visit Join the Puffins. Sponsors who want to support travel, equipment and representative opportunities can learn more through our Partners page.
From the first planning message to the final team photograph, every tour carries the same responsibility: compete hard, respect the hosts and represent Kópavogur with pride. The passport may collect the stamps, but the club keeps the stories.
